Nov 28, 2022     Releveling and drawing Landing Light channel flange drill line - (1.5 hours) Category: Wings
Drilled out the temporary rivets that I put on the top of the main spar so that I can tuck the leading edge under it for drilling. Strapped it tight and inserted clecos in current holes.
Then I measured the line for the landing lights channel flange from the spare holes (225mm from spar holes on top, 240mm from spar holes on bottom). Drew the line but didn't drill anything yet.
I went ahead and scotchbrited, acetoned, and cortec'd the landing light channel backplate (6-LLO-1-1) and riblet (6-LLO-1-2).
I then thought it was a good idea to recheck level. The doggon thing was off by a .5 deg! I jostled around and move the base bar and still couldn't bring it in to level. So I checked the 9deg spar angle again and it was dead on. After many attempts, I decided that the only thing that I could do was uncleco the top skin (everything had shifted when I drilled out the main spar top temp rivets. After unclecoing, I was able to see level again (the spot on main spar was perfect always, the trailing edge wasn't) on both the front and rear. I re-clecod the top skin with exception of the rear spar, which now looks to be off the pilot holes by as much as a 1/2 a #40 pilot hole. I figured that I'll step away for the night and ponder my next step.
